Radiohead’s Eighth Studio Album, ‘The King of Limbs,’ Available Now for Download Only on Band’s Dedicated Website
Things are starting to really roll now that we’re in the middle of February. But perhaps the biggest music news right now is the new album from Radiohead, titled, The King of Limbs. The MP3 version of the album is officially available today via the band’s The King of Limbs website.
Of course, like so many others, we were waiting anxiously for the official drop. Since then, only a few hours ago, we’ve listened to The King of Limbs twice, and there are definitely a few good songs that stand out right away, like “Lotus Flower,” “Give Up The Ghost,” “Codex” and “Bloom.” There is more mixing of electronic and acoustic throughout, even dubstep, with thumping bass lines and fading vocals of Thom Yorke.
“Bloom” – Radiohead from The King of Limbs
The one track that stands out the most for us right now is “Lotus Flower,” which is the first official single from the album. If we were to pick the second single from the record, it would have to be “Bloom.”
After we watched the video for “Lotus Flower,” we were, well, a bit creeped out by Thom’s spastic movements and strange facial expressions. But, on second thought, it’s just Thom expressing himself in a way only he can. So, we’re not really crept out anymore. Anyways, who cares, we are enjoying this mostly mellowed out, almost dreamy, new album by Radiohead.
What we really want to know is what all of you think about the album. Do you like it? Why or why not? What’s your favorite song? Once you’ve heard it, we’d like you to come back here and write some comments. Aside from “Lotus Flower” and “Bloom” (maybe “Little By Little”), “Give Up The Ghost” is probably one of the take aways from The King of Limbs. Hmmmm…

Why you hating on the video??
Let the man express himself in any which way he feels, i mean, thats why we listen to his music.
On the first listen, I noticed that the first four tracks have a common pattern of spastic, glitchy drums that breaks at “Lotus Flower.” While the rest of the tracks retain the general break-beat feel, they become generally rhythmically smoother. Nice atmospherically, not very diverse overall though.
Hello Alec: You make a reasonable observation, but like we said in today’s Fresh Tracks mix, it’s nearly impossible to dissect a Radiohead album. :)
Ur link is busted. Should be http://www.thekingoflimbs.com/
Thanks Tark, fixed.
My buzz post describes my impression when I first heard it:
Leniel Macaferi – Little by Little, Codex, Give Up The Ghost and Separator for now are my favs… I think that as time passes by I’ll like all of them.

Love the " href="javascript:void(0);"/>< album and that video is just fantastic!
I have listened to the album twice adn really like it. I don’t have a complete feel for it but is definetly a thumbs up. It is a low key album but am excited by it.
I love the album. Love all of Radiohead. To me this album its like every incarnation of Radiohead had joined together and formed a supergroup. Also, I don’t care if millions of purple well flock to whatnot. As long as I love it, does it matter? As long as there are enough people to keep them going that’s fine. And it seems that there is no danger of that not happening.
Wow. I do not like that video. O_o
