Best Songs 2009
It’s amazing how many people are still seeking out indie music from 2009. Our site statistics show it is hundreds of people a week. You can’t blame them; 2009 was a great year for indie rock, and we feel like we covered it fairly well. However, due to the demand, we created this special page dedicated to 2009. Here you have access to a series of gigantic playlist mixes, plus links to popular mixes of 09 songs that were published throughout last year.
If you want to build your MP3 collection, or just stream the playlists while you do other things, you’ve come to the right spot. These playlists are very diverse, featuring the most popular songs of 2009, plus many other terrific and memorable songs from artists and bands that most people have never heard of.
This playlist is not meant to be definitive and the songs are not in any particular order of best to least best, or whatever; it’s just the best random songs of 2009. For more 2009 playlists and mixtapes, check out the Ears to the Music series. If you like these mixes and want us to add more, even though the songs are 6 to 12+ months “old”, leave comments below to let us know. Admittedly, we’re still disovering, or going back for additional spins, of songs and albums we love from 2009. (updated 5/14/10). You may also want to check out the popular In Dee Mail series for lesser-known indie jems from 2009.
