Best Indie Artists and Bands of the 21 Century

i find it nearly impossible to do this since many of my favorite indie bands formed before 2000.

let me think. i guess i would have to say Iron and Wine not just becaues the husband and wife duo are such amazing songwriters, but also because they have such a solid collection of songs, mostly ballads that melt your heart and make you feel almost euphoric.

I might say Doh!! later on when I discover that I band that I would have put here that is "better" than I&W, but for now this is my pick. I'd pick Architecture in Helsinki (if you haven't hear them, strongly recommend you do) as my second choice.

Here are other contenders, in my opinion, for great 21st century indie artists:

- The Arcade Fire
- The Starting Line
- Clay Your Hands Say Yeah
- The Decemberists
- The Format

...and so many more
