So far, 2010 is looking like a great year for indie and alternative rock.

No, it's definitely not the Rosie and the Donald slug fest on the national airwaves, but it's getting almost as ugly as the verbal feud between two indie rock bands heats up. The whole sordid affair is either an ill-guided argument about what constitutes good music, or a planned public relations stunt.
The popular emo boy band My Chemical Romance was slammed by the Kasabian's lead singer Tom Meighan, who called the band "clowns" with "make-up". (photo to the left is Gerard Way of MCR)
In his interview with the New Music Express (the "Rolling Stone magazine of the U.K."), Meighan volleyed an unwarranted series of bitch-slap fireballs at the wildly successful MCR by comparing the band's music to a group of "ventriloquists."

"[Their music] is weird and dark," Meighan told NME. "They don't have anything positive to say. The only good news is that it won't last. These clowns won't be around for much longer. Their make-up will flake off and the scene will die out. And it can't happen soon enough."
It didn't take long for MCR to bite back.

My Chemical Romance needs to stop cutting themselves and writing poetry and go make some real musice.
first of all my chemical romance isnt emo. they actual write songs that make sense. Kasabian needs to get a life and stop saying sh*t to start fights .. possibly as a publicity stunt?
kasabian started it so they asked for this.
kasabian needs to learn to respect other bands.
just because mcr sings about darker sh*t than they do??? mcr is a dark minded band.
--not everyone is all happy and dandy--
and i think mcr will last longer than kasabian.
kasabian just needs to shut their f*cking mouths
and people need to stop calling mcr... emo.... if you ACTUALLY listened to them... they sing so much more than "emo"
Okay My Chemical Romance is NOT emo nor have they ever been. This is a pathetic attempt from Kasabian to gain attention. Kasabian that was a low shot and that shows just how desperate you guys really are. Do us all a favor and shut the hell up. Keep writing your pretty little songs, and keep your mouths shut unless you actually know what the hell you are talking about (which I'd guess you never will so just shut up... period). Keep doin what you're doin My Chemical Romance. Love you guys forever. ^^
Lol...so. This band wants to talk crap about MCR? Lol! Who are these people anyway?! Kasabian?? Lol never even heard of them! ha ha, so that's probably why they say negative things about MCR. They need a bit of attention so they talk about a really creative band, gets their band noticed. Wrong kind of attention tho, just makes them look dumb and like bullies. Seriously tho, who are these guys? Never ever heard of them. lol
