Today marks three years since the passing of one of the most talented and introspective singer/songwriters of a generation.Elliott Smith committed suicide at the age of 34 in Los Angeles on October 21, 2003 after suffering years of depression and drug abuse. His deep and melancholy songs moved millions of fans. His music and memory will live on. That is for sure.
Smith rose to national prominence, unfortunately, after his songs appeared in blockbuster movies like Good Will Hunting and American Beauty. He continued to release highly acclaimed, heart-wrenching music up until he unfortunate passing.
